dark forces in dreams...

dear rawn and friends!

i am encountering from time to time(the last one 5 minutes ago) a very
scary, dark force in my dreams with a strong magnetic pull on me. it
seems it just wants to swallow me into horror and extinction. until
now i am allways fighting it succsesfully by waking up. just once i
gave in consciously and was thrown painfully around by that force.
that force feels very real and very distinct from rest of my dreams.
the question is: is that force something real, or just a part of my
imagination(it doesnt feel like)? is it potentially dangerous(my
feeling is it could really kill or catch me, not just in the dream)?
and i heard some masters telling that its important to face the
darkest fears(that might be it) and to let go into it and see what
survives! i am not so sure about that! especially after reading IIH,
the chapter about traveling into some elemental worlds and that its
important to know how to behave in order to survive. can there be a
danger from dreams?
