IOX137, When I want to relax one of the first things I do is tighten the muscles I want to relax, because we in the modern world aren't always aware of our muscles and bodies "doing" something. So I exagerate the doing to then let go and surrender into relaxation, and non doing. I view the esoteric path whether it be Bardon or Tibetan tantra or whatever, to be analogous. Visualization, vital energy exercises etc by doing them consciously bring up into awareness what we are unconsciously doing and conversely allows us to consciouly practice non doing. Otherwise when I might think I am doing nothing, really all of the subconscious doings go on and on. If as the heart sutra suggests form is emptiness and emptiness is form, all phenomena including psychic phenomena reveal this reality, but how do "I" respond to it? Enough theory, for me in this post this the praxis list --- TARMSTRONG11@... wrote: > Sokan, > > If the mind is essentially "nothingness" then the > only reason one would > attempt a method, is to try to uncondition it and > make it aware of this fact. > What other reason is there to pursue "initiation" > than to dissolve the mind > (ego) in to God, Being, that which 'is'? > > My point is that ANY method will mean a "doing", and > that "doing" is just a > round about way to allow the mind to LET GO.
