It is the *experience of* IIH that leads to understanding, not just the
reading of it. Understanding is not an intellectual process of putting
two and two together. Instead, understanding is the result of direct,
structured personal experience. It is a matter of knowing, not one of
guessing.

An "understanding" that is rooted in what one reads or what one is told
by others is not true Understanding. Instead, that is rationalization,
assumption and belief. From an initiatory perspective, these are not
enough because they are essentially unreliable.
