Dear Rawn, Quite honestly, while I follow an essentially Hermetic path and philosophy, I do not agree with all aspects of any one philosophy. Be it Hermetic or psychological. One aspect that I do not agree with would be the idea of mind-body dualism. To me, the mind and body are essentially one and the same. So the brain is a necessary consequence of us having a mind, and so the mind is a necessary consequence of us having a brain. In some respects it reminds me of the statement for Mulkuth in the pattern on the trestleboard, "10. The Kingdom of Spirit is embodied in my flesh." Which appears to say that physicality is a natural consequence of the primal expression of spirit. Moreover, over my years of studying and practicing all sorts of esoteric things, some of which where quite questionable, I came to the conclusion long ago that it is probably best to exhaust all possible physiological explinations before moving into the realm of metaphysical explinations. But that's just my cautious, skeptical nature showing through after having been burned by believing too fully within a rather faulty metaphysical conception of the self and universe. Love and Live well, Peter Reist
