Most likely, yes. There is a LOT to keep track of in a full blown
evocation ritual and even after completing Step Eight, this takes some
time to get used to. Having the magical regalia helps immensely in this
process.

There's no profit, magically speaking, to be had in letting another
spirit occupy or fill your mental body. However, there is great profit
in the process of *merging with* another spirit, such as in the Step
Four transference of consciousness and the Step Ten work of merging with
the Divine.
