Dear Rawn and MJ, Thanks for your answers. To clarify my wording, the reason I'm asking the question is that I believe that *my use* of mind chatter (at the unconscious level) is and will be an obstacle in my development, if not taken care of. Without going through any type of "astral streap-tease" :-), here is the problem I'm trying to get rid of in my list : "Permanent mind chatter, leading to a lack of focus and of short- term memory, as well as to problems of intellectual assimilation". This was the root of a number of others problems I wrote down first. Sounds funny ? It is not. Sometimes, I feel like a rabbit : as soon as I start running, I don't know the reason of it anymore :-) Another illustration : this corresponds more or less to the second exercise of level 1 / mental : being focused to the job we perform here and now. *This* is what I have problems for, amongst others, because of my mind chatter. I got some improvements when I worked on it, but I have problems maintaining a focused state on the long run. <<The surface chatter reflects the inner state of the individual and it's the inner state that must be transformed>> I guess that "inner state" corresponds to what I was trying to describe by "root". In this case, Rawn, are you suggesting that taking care of the rest of the black mirror will make the mind chatter to stop being an handicap ? Thanks for your patience ! NB
