Dear David, >> I was wondering if there are any specific applications of lucid dreams or dreamwork in Bardon's Hermetics? Meaning, does he specifically address the development and use of this capacity or is that left to our own explorations? << No, Bardon didn't suggest any dreamwork in his books. Dreamwork is mostly about the exploration of one's own psyche from *within the dream state*. With the Bardon work, the psyche is explored, confronted and transformed through experiences and practices done while in the *awake* state. This is a much more direct and reliable context for the transformation of the psyche than working within a dream state. The direct approach also has the side-effect, if you will, of enlivening the dream state and *naturally* transforming into a "lucid" state of *self* possession and *self* will. At that point, lucid dreaming can be a very good tool for increasing your understanding of the dynamic processes within your own psyche. >> And which step, if the latter, is it appropriate to start that kind of exploration (because I've heard it said that it is not appropriate or safe to start exploring astral projection until some later step). << Lucid dreaming is not the same thing as astral projection so the same cautions don't apply. The only caution or prerequisite would be that you understand you're exploring your own subconscious psyche which is a very dense realm of emotion-based (i.e., astral) symbolism. My best to you, :) Rawn Clark 12 Nov 2003 rawnclark@... rawn@... http://www.ABardonCompanion.com http://groups.yahoo.com/group/BardonPraxis http://E.webring.com/hub?ring=arionthebardonwe
