Thanks Mark - good idea. The components of a repeated and known feeling should be easier to "split" indeed. But, in fact, what I wanted to validate was less the way to experience cold than my understanding of Rawn's text : isolation and concentration on the *essential meaning* of cold's components, and not on cold itself, as I understood from Bardon's wording first. I'm asking this question because *keeping focused on /reproduce an astral body-related sensation* (feeling cold) is not the same as *keeping focused on a fonction of the mental body* (essential meaning). That's why. But I may be mixing things up. Anyway. I have the ...feeling that by the time I have succeeded in this exercise, I'll be the cleanest Newbie of the world :-) Thanks anyway :-) NB --- mark towse <bigimpact2003@...> wrote: > Hi Newbie, > > If your having your bath / shower with very cold > water everyday a'la step 1, focus on that experience > as its a completely immersive cold experience and > very easy to bring back to your conscious awareness. > The immersiveness of this cold experience with your > entire body should enable you to more easily single > parts out. > > Mark > > newbieonekenhobby <newbieonekenhobby@...> > wrote: > If I understand the example of "smelling the rose" > correctly, and if > I apply it to *cold*, e.g.: > > a) I start with holding something cold in my hands, > or I go outside. > b) I determine the kinesthetic components of what > I'm feeling > c) I connect to their essential meaning, and then > get rid of the > components themselves. > d) then I actually *run my meditation on the > essential meaning of > cold* afterwards. > > Is this correct ? > Is this the same as *feeling the cold*, as Bardon > prescribes ?
