The beings of the Elements do not make "judgment calls" in the human
sense. They simply enact the impersonal forces of Nature specific to
their Element. As such, they immediately react to the presence of
anything foreign and threatening to their environment, which is what an
immature magician proves themselves to be if they force themselves upon
the Elemental beings. As soon as the magician effectively enters the
Elemental realm, through filling their mental body with the Element and
taking on the shape of an Elemental being, the beings of the realm will
be able to perceive the magician (whether the magician can perceive them
or not) *and* will be able to affect the magician. By appearing in the
form of the Element's being and keeping to yourself, so to speak, you
will most likely be recognized as foreign but *not* as an immediate
threat of any kind.
