One may also speak of the elements and their effects as in quality 
and quantity. Qualities and quantities. A large quantity of a small 
amount of quality would not be as effective or detrimental as a small 
quantity of a strong quality. 

One is always and continuously exchanging/turning-in one quality of 
low vibration socially/emotionally for a higher vibration quality. 
But the lower quality vibration may still be there in a low quantity. 
In embolding our characters by bathing them in God qualities we never 
can really wash out totally the human characteristics that make us 
human. What we learn to do is to avoid 'acting' on the solely human 
reactions, and instead wait for the higher vibration reactions to 
take hold and respond with those.
