Dear Joel, If you have mastered the second mental exercise (one-pointedness) then EOM is simply a matter of focusing exclusively upon the quietness where no thoughts exist. Most often folks get involved in focusing upon the elimination of thoughts from their mind but this is the wrong focus for EOM. Focus instead upon the quiet absence of thoughts and ignore everything else. All of your comments were about how you "can't" do it and about what you're "not" experiencing . . . this sort of thinking is self-defeating. So in addition I recommend that you adjust your thinking about your EOM practice and realign it toward success instead of failure. And keep working at it. :) There's a lot to be said for stick-to-it-iveness! My best to you, :) Rawn Clark 15 Apr 2005 rawnclark@... rawn@... http://www.ABardonCompanion.com http://groups.yahoo.com/group/BardonPraxis http://E.webring.com/hub?ring=arionthebardonwe
