Dear Olivier, >> Why are visualizations seen in dreams more vivid than visualizations created while in mundane awareness? << What you see and experience during dreaming are not *visualizations*. Instead, they are *perceptions*. In other words, you are not consciously creating what you see and experience during the dream state. The Step Two exercise on the other hand is about *consciously creating*. >> I tried shifting my awareness a bit to replicate artificially the experience of dreaming. This enhances the quality of the visualizations substantially but control becomes hard to maintain. Do other people recomment "shifting the awareness" (daydreaming?) as a method to enhance the quality of visualizations? << I would counsel against this tactic since it takes you out of the realm of *consciously creating*. The Step Two sensory exercises must be intentional and their point is to teach you how to create sensory impressions with your fully conscious awareness. >> I figured the best method would be to start from the root essential meaning, and then materialize the visualization gradually by clothing it with emotional significance a la archaeous 3 but the method requires a lot of expertise it seems. << I think you are trying too hard and expecting something more than what Step Two is about. With the Step Two exercises you are creating a *mental* sensory perception, not an astral one. This is about using your mental imagination. For example, *imagine* that you see the object, hear the sound, smell the aroma, etc. It really is very simple when you don't try too hard or expect too much. :) My best to you, :) Rawn Clark 23 July 2004 rawnclark@... rawn@... http://www.ABardonCompanion.com http://groups.yahoo.com/group/BardonPraxis http://E.webring.com/hub?ring=arionthebardonwe
