Re: VOM

Message 00423 of 3835

Dear Martin,

>> With this exercise more than the other two, I
find it difficult to stay focused and aware. I end up drifting into
a dream-like state and 'coming to' half an hour later (not exactly
falling asleep, more of a hypnogogic state). Obviously the fact that
I am almost always tired by the time I have a chance to practice
doesn't help... I need to find a way to stay alert mentally, yet
also permit my mind to become vacant... any suggestions, tips or
comments would be appreciated. <<

The main thing is to persevere with the exercise. The VOM is a new
state of awareness for you and it may take you a while to adjust to it,
sort of like your eyes adjusting to the darkness.

You might consider devoting your Eucharistic magic of air, food and
water, to keeping yourself alert and aware during your VOM practice.
For example, impregnate your air, water and food with the idea that you
remain alert during your VOM and that you remember the experience.

My best to you,
:) Rawn Clark
