I was gone for a few days and had a lot of reading to do to catch up to the current posts. Someone had mentioned a method they were using to "feel" the sensations in the second exercise. I'd like to share a method I used: Rather than trying to remember the experience of a sensation, I go get the sensation. Bardon explains that in IIH, with the visualization, when he says to look at the objects and then create the image mentally. I had problems originally with the auditory because I would eventually have an image called to mind. So I took off my watch, placed it behind my head where I could hear it, and then concentrated on the sound. If the image came to mind, I threw it away. I didn't have to create the sound, but my mind got used to just auditory and visuals. This also helped with the others. I'd go stick my arm in the freezer for a few seconds and focused on the cold sensation. Same for the heat, hold my hand over a flame to feel the heat and savor it. Taste and smell helped too. Its much like the CSM, just applied. Savor the sensation, and then create it on your own. Thought that might be helpful. It helped a friend of mine so I thought may as well. -- Alan
