Sorry, I have always called it the 216-letter name as
shorthand :)

I meant mathematical "unity" here - one the basis that
that, gematrically, the 613 commandments ("mitzvot")
reduces to 10 (which are considered to be the most
important and universal of the 613 - considering that
some of the commandments relate to the affairs of
fishermen, etc.), which then reduces to 1, which, in
my mind, signfies the overiding importance of one G-d.
On this basis, I expected that the gematria of the
72-fold name to reduce to 1.

I re-read the Torah section and I duly note your
comments. However, as an economist, I rarely let the
facts get in the way of a good conclusion ;)
